So, time has moved on. I have completed the CELTA course and achieved an A grade which I am thrilled about. I have completed a month teaching in a summer school which was, to say the least challenging. I put into practice a lot of my CELTA training; learnt a whole lot more; met some interesting people and realized that I am probably too old and set in my ways for summer school teaching. I didn't join the profession to baby sit truculent teenagers or carry out pastoral duties as well as teach for 6 hours a day. Anyway, it was an experience and I am sure that I am a better person for having done it.
As I write this it is 20 minutes before the 1st August begins and as I am leaving the UK for Slovakia on 23rd August I must seriously begin to organize myself for departing. It is all becoming 'real' and I must quell the feelings of panic I sometimes experience when I contemplate the near future.
